Dennis Earl Russell

	Dennis Earl Russell, 56, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away at 5:33 a.m. February 3, 2003.
	Dennis was born at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin on June 8, 1946 to the Late Rev. Clifford Earl Russell, of Herrin, and Betty Baggett Corso of 108 S. Mulberry St.
	Dennis worked at Alton Box Company in Jonesboro, Arkansas for 25 years as a designing engineer.  He was a member of the Straw Floor Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher.  
	He was a devoted Cub fan for 40 years.  Three days before his death he was honored with a phone call from Ryan Sandburg, a former Cub player, and Hall-of-Famer Ernie Banks, who was his all-time favorite.  
	He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Clifford Russell, his paternal grandparents, Edward and Mabel Russell of Herrin and his maternal grandparents, Earl and Ruby Baggett of Du Quoin.
	He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Russell; his son, Brice Russell and wife Carrie and his daughter, Michelle Russell Brown and her husband Steve Brown.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, John Allen Chapman, Makayla Goetz, Halley Russell and  Trey and Corey Benice, all of Jonesboro, Ark.; his mother, Betty Russell Corso of Du Quoin; two sisters, Kathy Hagler and husband Gerald of Du Quoin, Belinda Biggers and husband Fred of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
	Dennis was the poster boy for the March of Dimes Polio foundation in 1952.  Donations may be made to the Post Polio Syndrome Organization in Jonesboro, Ark, of which he was a member.
	Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ark. was in charge of funeral arrangements.
	Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on February 4.  Funeral services will be held at the Straw Floor Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on February 5.
	He will be missed, but not forgotten.
